Research Interests

My research activities focus on innovation management, in particular on digital innovation. In that respect, the relationship between organizational design and culture as well as of networks on succeeding with digital innovation is of special interest. Topics such as individuals’ influence on organizational-level outcome, e.g., the phenomenon of innovation champions, and the role of information technology (IT) and IT units are further important aspects of my research. From a theoretical point of view, I combine theories from different sciences such as organization, social, and management science. The research projects are quantitative-empirical but typically start with exploratory qualitative research.
