On July 10th Lachezar Ivanov had the great honor of opening the Academy of Marketing Science World Marketing Congress (AMS WMC) in Edinburgh with a talk on how we can use evolutionary psychology to advance consumer research, with a focus on cross-cultural advertising. One of the hints he gave marketers was to use human universals (evolved similarities in preferences) when designing standardized advertising campaigns meant to work cross-culturally.
