In the joint PhD program with the German Graduate School of Management and Law (Heilbronn) the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) supports young scientists on their way to the doctoral thesis. Yesterday, the new cohort of the English-language program on "Dynamic Capabilities and Relationships" was launched. It is already the fifth. "We have grown over the years," said GGS CEO Prof. Dr. Tomás Bayón during his welcome speech. In addition to the new, many current and former doctoral students didn't want to miss the Kickoff-meeting, which took place for the first time at the GGS.
The goal of the program is the training of excellent young scientists. The colleagues are supported by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation. The managing director of the foundation, Prof. Reinhold Geilsdörfer, who also welcomed the new doctoral students, emphasized the importance of good research in a constantly changing environment. "That is why we are happy to support you in your work." With English as the working language, the program is also attractive for foreign young scientists. The doctoral students come from Nigeria, Pakistan, Georgia or Canada.
Also Prof. Dr. Albrecht Söllner from the Viadrina paid tribute to the work of the doctoral students. Apart from the already completed PhDs "we are looking at a very successful research output". The colleagues publish the results of their research in prestigious journals and present them at international conferences. Tomás Bayón: "We can be proud of what we have achieved."
